My name is Jason. I did not change my name to protect my innocence. That was taken away a long time ago. I grew up in a small town in Washington. I didn't grow up knowing anything about love or innocence. The people who should have taught me that taught me other things instead, like how to use, cook, sell drugs. If they ever showed me a slight amount of approval , it was when I did a good job selling. I am not sure if they really did then. I didn't really know about playing and laughing as a child. I guess I never got to be a child. Mostly, I remember hurting. My grandparents molested me and my parents let them. My parents abused me, though I didn't know it was abuse because it happened daily and was the usual thing. When they broke my bones in the abuse, they threw me in a room crying until I could shut up, and kept me hidden till it healed. One time, when the bone protuded through my skin, it took a long time to heal. I was alone in that room with pain  and fever and fear. No one ever held me when I cried. No one ever comforted me. No one ever told me they loved me, not even once. Not till that day I walked into a counselor's office. I didn't know her name until later in life. What she told me that day about hope and Someone who loved me, never left my thoughts. I didn't really change anything then, but when I grew up , I remembered what she said and gave it a try. The interesting thing is, after I turned my life around because of that day, I met a young woman in a bad situation and was able to help rescue her. I told her my story, and putting 2 and 2 together, we figured out that the counselor who helped me that day years ago was her mom. We called her in California and I was finally able to tell Cherri that she had helped me even though she had never seen that she did.
